Meet Dr. Emilia Savage

Emilia Savage,DrPH is a public health scholar, educator, strategist, and founder of the Human-Centered Learning Institute.

Her work explores a central question: how can we design environments that allow people to thrive — even in an age of chronic stress?

Drawing from public health, education, psychology, organizational behavior, and leadership research, Dr. Savage developed the SAFE Framework™ to help educators, leaders, and organizations translate human-centered principles into practical strategies for strengthening safety, agency, emotional intelligence, engagement, and belonging.

She also serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching environmental science and sustainability. Through HCLI, Dr. Savage works to bridge research and practice — helping organizations rethink not only how people perform, but the environments in which they are being asked to perform.

Ideas that change how we think about people—and the environments we create around them.

Dr. Emilia Savage delivers research-informed, story-driven presentations exploring the intersection of human behavior, learning, leadership, stress, belonging, and organizational environments.

Her flagship presentation, Human-Centered Leadership in an Age of Chronic Stress, challenges leaders to reconsider a fundamental question:

What if the problem isn't the person—but the environment we're asking them to succeed within?

Audiences leave with a practical framework for examining the environments they influence, and actionable strategies for creating conditions that support engagement, connection, resilience, and human potential.
